British Buff Turkeys

These seem on the whole to be one of the most relaxed of the turkey colour varieties.  They are classed as a light breed with the stags weighing up to 28 lb.  They generally become very tame if given some attention and the stags in particular love to meet new people and display to them. Our original stag used to greet visitors in the yard and would follow our tour of the smallholding as long as the gates were opened for him, much like a dog would, displaying constantly. The picture above shows a 15 month old pair in the September sunshine, blending with the fallen leaves.
